Welcome to Ffrith Indoor Bowls Club, Prestatyn

Located in the North Wales Bowls Centre at Prestatyn’s Ffrith Beach, the club was formed in 1989, and has over 200 members. Extensively refurbished by Denbighshire County Council, the bowling arena provides 8 rinks of international standard.

The stadium is open to all abilities and ages of bowlers. Our members encourage and welcome visitors and tourists to the area where they can enjoy a game of bowls and partake of the first class catering and bar facilities, or just sit and have a coffee in the comfortable lounge viewing area.

Our all year round arena is able to accommodate league and social bowling events and, due to our central location on the North Wales Coastal belt, visiting bowlers come to play from across North Wales, Merseyside, Greater Manchester the Potteries, Cheshire and the Wirral.

For the beginner we offer training from qualified coaches and the hire of the correct bowling equipment and stadium footwear. This is a great way to start on a sport that can be played whatever the weather outside!

The centre takes pride in welcoming disabled bowlers and has pre bookable wheel chairs available that are specially designed for the disabled bowler enabling them to bowl safely.

Summer and Winter League programmes are open to new teams wishing to join and meet new friends and take part in the league programmes. The main winter league programme starts in October and runs to the end of March.

Come and join us, make new friends, keep fit through this all- abilities sport and enjoy one of the best indoor bowling stadiums in the U.K.

News Match verses Bro Ddyfi postponed on 2nd November. New date TBA.

Dear Member
Covid 19 –North Wales Bowls Centre – Postponed Opening Monday 5th October
I hope you are all staying safe and well in these challenging times ,it is not easy for families and friends ,but our hope is that as the weeks progress that we will all be able to meet again .
The late news yesterday was a blow to our hopes to see everyone as the doors re –open at the North Wales Bowls Centre .But sadly we all face a few more weeks of lockdown in our home areas it is not possible to re –open safely .The committee this morning working with our partners Denbighshire Leisure Services Ltd have had to take the reluctant decision to place on hold the planned opening for at least another 3 weeks or until Welsh Government Issue further guidance .
It has been a joint decision with DCC Leisure and FBC Committee which we know is hugely disappointing but your health and safety is always paramount in any decision we make and even though the staff at the centre and Kevin our league Secretary have worked tremendously hard to implement the leagues. Sion and his team have put in place new ventilation and a new sound system and the centre is cleaned and sanitized. It will be difficult for us to open under the current restrictions.
We want to assure you all that the situation will be reviewed over the coming weeks as the Welsh Government Guidance is updated.
In the meantime, we will work tirelessly jointly with Sion and the team to bring you better news as the weeks progress on future opening plans.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the committee if you have any concerns or if during this difficult time you need help we will do our very best to help you .
Please stay safe and look after yourselves.
Best Wishes
Roger, Jack, Rob, Kevin, Chris R, Paul, Pam, Christine, Shirley, Barbara, Rhys
Sion, Heather, Julie, and the team
